The Warehouse in Groningen

Project Omschrijving

Voor het voormalig V&D distributiegebouw aan de Groningse Rode Weeshuisstraat heeft MWPO samen met Beauvast The Warehouse ontwikkeld. Een regelrechte ode aan de wederopbouwarchitectuur. Industriële stijl en comfortabele luxe komen hier perfect samen.

Vanaf de 1e verdieping ontstonden we 24 compacte, luxe appartementen, verdeeld over vier bouwlagen. Horizontale raamstroken en Franse balkons zorgen voor veel licht en beleving. De betonconstructie zet de toon voor het unieke loftachtige interieur.

De begane grond en het souterrain zijn getransformeerd tot een aantrekkelijke ruimte met veel glas. Het gebouw heeft als het ware een open plint gekregen die bijdraagt aan de levendigheid van de stad. Grote vides achter de glazen gevel verbinden het souterrain met de begane grond en met de straat. Op beide lagen heeft Laif & Nuver zijn nieuwe Soulstore geopend. De zichtbare betonconstructie geeft de ruimte een licht-industrieel karakter.

SPARQ realiseerde in dit project de glasbalustrades, zowel met punthouders als op basis van ons U-Line Top profiel, de Franse balkons op basis van ons J-Line systeem en enkele privacyschermen.
